How do you add details to a work order?

Nov 21, 2006 3 Replies

Hello all! I have a quick question I'm hoping someone would be kind enough to help me with.

How can I add details to a work order? there's the small comments section, but it is not adequate for my needs. I would like to be able to add details regarding specific labor that is being done on a work order. Is this possible? Do I need an add-on for this?

Thank you for any help/direction you can provide.

Regards,

Aside from the Shift-F9 'Order Details' screen, the best thing is probably Ctrl-F10 'Item Comment' where you can add quite a bit of info about a specific line item. Hint: use Shift-Enter to start a new line.

One more thing: You can add the Order Reference, Order Comment and Order Due Date to your printed receipt.

Send me your e-mail address off-list and I'll add you to my mailing list for the service/repair shop add-in that I have been developing; it gives you designated fields for various details (e.g. description of problem, work performed, status, category, private comments, custom fields) and allows you to create work orders from a back-office machine. I'm pushing for an announcement hopefully next week.
