Adding items from HQ vs SO

Hi samm Well the very first thing is that why you implemented HQ and I belive your answer would be centralized managemnet so creation of item is centrally manage and should be created at HQ. however you can do management of item attribute i.e. price, cost, local quantity, reorder point and restock level at store level.

Why you have gray button in quantity ??? is because it not make sense that you have initial quantity at HQ all quantities move from store to HQ or HQ can perform the inventory adjustment base of the physical inventory count or inventory adjustment.

Well best practice requires you to create the items in HQ and recieve the items in Store as Transfer in or Purchase Order the information can then flow to HQ. You should make sure that the "Automatically create inter store transfer recieve / issue inventory order" options is checked at HQ and after you creat the store you should run the worksheet 501 and synch the results through Wizard task 190 at HQ. After that your inventory at HQ should match that of the stores.

Now if you want to create the item at store [and have it created at HQ automatically and sent to other stores] we have a paid utility that can do that [part of our item creation add-on to create structured coding]. Also when yo do stocktake the items would update the HQ.
