How can i generate a report that will show total monthly sales and total by category for a whole year. I this would help i preparing a annual sales graph Thanks Robert

You can use our free Sales Summary Report to view and export this data. See the report sample shown in lower right corner of this brochure:

The sample shows the End-of-Day version of the report. The summary version lists monthly sales. Both reports also include sales by category (if any). By default the summary report lists last month's sales but you can define any date range such as last year, first quarter, last week, etc. To export the data select the Export icon in the report view and pick CSV or XLS format.
This report and others in our Reports/Templates Bundle are FREE to keep when you download our RMS Toolkit trial. If you only want the free reports, check off 'Custom Reports/Templates' during installation and leave other options unchecked.
