Hi, We hired a new employee, created a new cashier, etc. When signed in the captions to not appear at the top. Everybody else does. Is there a setting we've missed?

I think you're talking about the HTML status bar. Do a Ctrl+F6 | Transaction Screen tab | check Display HTML status bar | OK
If that's not what you are looking for, login as someone else and do a Crtl+F6 and compare settings on all 3 tabs.
