How would I go about cashing a check from the till for someone without having it show as a sale? This isn't something we do very often but there are occasions when we need to. Any help is appreciated.

It's less than ideal, but we've set up a "dummy" account that we sell any item to (we use a dummy item as well), then tender it as a check payment. Then we void that transaction and tender it as cash.
It gets us by, anyway!

Thanks for the input. I was considered something very similar myself. I just hoped there would be a better way to do it.
