Check Processing?

We are in the beginning stages of implementing RMS at our retail location ---- we ordered a check reader with our POS station

Do we need an add-on application or will RMS process a check electronically out of the box?

You need an add-on, and I'm not even sure that will work. If you are using a check imaging solution, where the funds are transfered immediately, the only thing that I know will work is an external terminal. You might be able to do it with TPI Software's smart payments Add-in, but I'm not sure.

If you are just using an MICR to read the bank and account numbers, you can process through PC Charge with a few processing companies, but then you also have to use PC Charge for credit cards.

You need to work with your reseller on this...
