We would like to collect zip codes for each customer and display reminder prompt the cashier to offer gift certificates? Any suggestions?
In a prior post someone had recommended setting up a walk in customer but this would prove very cumbersome when the store is busy.

For our clinet, we had set-up customers as surronding area zip code. For e.g. zip-code 10020, customer account # = 10020 So at the time of the sale select the correct zip-code / account #. This will make it easy to know which zip codes your customers are coming from and do marketing accordingly.

Mihir, Sorry to say but the logic will not solve the issue overall you can see if you bind the account# with zip code you are limiting here only one customer fit for one zip code you can do so but zipcode+account # and for account # the best way is to have nickname/shortname.
