Customer Prompt at POS

Feb 07, 2006 1 Replies

We have been using RMS Store Ops and HQ for several years and had always required a customer to be be selected before each POS sale. For various reasons we no longer have a business reason for this to be required so we would like to eliminate this step in the sales process. Is there any reason why this might cause data problems for us given that we have all of this sales history where there is a customer attached and now we will be feeding it data without? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

No, there will not be any technical issues if you stop requiring a customer for all sales. You may start to notice that the customer is no longer available on some reports where is was before, but if you aren't using that information anyway you won't miss it. I think it's a good idea to colect the customer information if you can for use in targeted marketing.
