Custom HTML Header in POS Screen

First find out where your Registers HTML status bar is located: SO Administrator --> File menu --> Configuration --> Register tab and look at the 'Web Status' field. By default: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Retail Management System\Store Operations\HTML\Status.htm

You can than use any HTML editor to modify the file to your liking.

In case you were looking for how to do this in Microsoft Point of Sale, (the Point of Sale POS component), select Tools -> System -> Display to locate your status bar html file. By Default: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Point of Sale\Content\HtmlStatusPane\StatusBar.htm

As Rob said, you can use any HTML editor - even Notepad.
