I am looking for a way to show in the status bar when a customer has a balance and/or a layaway when the customer is selected.

You can edit the Status.html file that is located in the ...\Store Operations\HTML\ folder. Of course this will require some JavaScript/VBScript programming. You can use Transaction.Customer.AccountBalance to determine if the account balance is not equal to 0.

Did you have any sucess in finding an HTML status bar that shows if a customer has a layaway when selected?
We have one with account balance.
