Discount on total receipt amount - not line items?

How do you change RMS to apply discounts only to the total sales amount...it seems to only want to apply whatever discount % to each line item, along with the reason code, instead of just allowing you to apply a discretionary discount towards the final total amount. Thanks in advance!

hitman,

_After_ you have all of the items on the sale, Shift + F3 Discount | Perform Discount on all items on the left | select Set sub-total on the right and enter the sun-total dollar amount of the sale with discount, i.e. the sub-total is displayed on the bottom left is $150, change it to $125 for a $25 invoice discount.

When you use this method, it still shows each item being discounted on the customer's receipt, instead of one lump sum discount.

I have a similar issue ... am try> hitman,

Jami,

You can turn off the line discounts from printing in the receipt properties.

SO Manager | Database | Registers | Receipt Formats | Select your receipt | change Show Line Discounts to False, exit and Save it. Now exit and re-enter POS for the changes to take effect.

Jeff and Jamie (and others), We are facing the same problem. We have our items on sale for , say 20%. On the top of it, we want to give a bottom line discount or a Mall discount for 10%, RMS seems to apply the percentage to all the items (sometimes it is not even distribution) and displays the discount percentage. We want to display the sub-total and bottom line discount applied separately and want the customers to see the discounts. We don't want to block the indiviual line item discounts. I have already posted a question on the forum. But I would like to know how you handled the situation. Thanks
