Changing the X/Z/ZZ Reports

Are there customized X/Z/ZZ Reports out there?

For starters, I'd like to be able to do a break down of the "Discounts" instead of one total. I use several different "REASON Codes" for the discounts. Is it possible modify these reports to show each Discount Reason Code and its corresponding amount that day?

Please help my bookkeeper is killing me! :-D

There is no way of doing what you ask with the X/Z or even the ZZ reports, it is a limitation of the receipts. You could instead run a report to show this information. The Detailed Sales Report has the Discount Reason Code as a field, you just need to the column to the report the drag the column all the way to the left so that the report then groups by each of your discount reason codes. Then run the report for the given day or time period. You can also memorize the report so that you don't have to make the changes over and over again.

Thanks. I already do what you are suggesting, it would just be nice to have the data on the daily Z reports for my accountant instead of running reports for him and then massaging the data and sending.

I'm looking at the XML and it shows

"Discounts|" Report.Discounts

I assume "Report.Discounts" is a call to the database? If that is the case why couldn't this be drilled into

"Discounts|" Report.Discounts.SubCatagoryType

as an example.

I don't know anything about programming other than some symple bat/com scripts I've written for Windows servers and a little in Regina Rex so XML is totally out of my league.

At any rate any explanation of the XML will be helpfull.

On another note, I found a link to a website in this forum before about "Custom - " reports. There where several listed their for free - anyone know where that is?

Yes it is a database call but it calls the Batch table where as a report calls the Transaction tables and does the discount calculations when you run the report. There is no way in the receipts to call the database in the fashion. Customer Source Reports Library -
