Hiding Discount Codes on Receipts

I have taken the standard Full Page Receipt and customized it pretty heavily to get a half page receipt that works very well. My 5.5x8.5 receipt looks exactly as I'd like it.

We just implemented this system and some of the quirks (ours and MSs) have me quite puzzled...

I have several non-inventory items with variable pricing (this is a furniture/appliance store). For example, HAULOFF. Haul off is a non-inventory item with no set price. We charge $0 for furniture haul off (but want the item on the delivery copy as a heads up for the delivery guys). We charge $25 for the first appliance and $10 for each add'l appliance hauloff. For example, a washer/dryer hauloff would be $35.

No matter where I set the default price for HAULOFF, I have to enter a discount code if I change it--up or down.

In the Transaction Details portion of the Receipt file, it appears as though the Discount Reason Code must somehow be appended to the Entry.Description or Entry.Price fields, as it is not listed separately.

Turning of the Show Line Item Discounts does not appear to achieve my objective.

Discount codes in general are a beautiful thing. It allows mgmt to track discounts--who gave 'em and what they gave 'em on. Before RMS, we had no real way to track this data. I don't want to give up entirely on discount codes.

I just don't want them to print on the receipt...

Anyone?

Terrible,

You are not asked for a reason code when you've set the item to "Must enter price at the POS" in the Options tab of the item.
