Hiding Kit or Assembly components on Receipts

Aug 05, 2009 5 Replies

Hi All

Is there any way top hide the individual components of a kit or assemebly on the customers receipt and just show the name of the kit or assembly.

Or

Maybe someone can advisde me on a better approuch to my situation. My store sells products which are printed and prepared when the customer buys is. We use specialist inks, scalpal blades, different paper types and also charge for the labour. So I created an assembly item containing ink, in ml, scalpal blade, plain paper type with substitutes and labour. The customer can change the paper type at the POS. I did it this way because I would like my stock to deplete, on inventory items, as they are sold, but I do not want them listing on the receipt. Even better would be if I could specify which items list and which dont; for example the paper type could list but not the ink, labour or the blades.

Many thanks

It is my understanding that "out of the box", you can not achieve the functionality you want. Kits are great in that the individual components will not show up on the receipt but you can not add to or change the items within a kit at POS. You can add to or change items using the Assembly but the Assembly number is more like a shortcut, allowing you to add a number of items all at once, rather than an actual item. There may be add-ons that provide more functionality or you could use a mix. In the scenerio you presented, if all the components are always the same except for paper type, you could but everything but the paper in a Kit. Then you could make an assembly that would include the paper and the Kit. This way, you could still change the paper type on the fly. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the advise. Unfortunately I do not have CustomerSource account. How can I sign up for this please ?

"Jeff @ Check Po> Ricardo,

Actually I just had a look and it appears I have to buy a servioce contract to get this information.

I cannot believe I have spent so much on this system and now I have to pay more just to do my own research. The documentation that comes with the software is basic, to say the least.

I have an IT background and am very capable to make such minor changes. Do i really have to buy a contract that I will probably never use again ?

It is not like I am askling for them to give me the SDK !

Is there anywhere else I can find reference material ?

Many thanks
