Kit, Assembly, Bundled Problem

We have been using Kits when we sell multiple piece items. Like beds that have 3 different boxes to make up one bed. One main reason why we like the kits Vs Assembly is that with a kit you can specify multiple price points and print off a nice label or hanging tag for the display model. However we just noticed one problem. When you put a kit item on Layaway it commits the kit instead of committing the individual items. This is fine however, when we get new inventory and transfer it in, those sold items on a Layaway Show On hand

0 and Committed 0. Since you scan each item of the kit instead of the kit itself (our kit items never come in together) in you may think that these items coming in are just for back stock, when in reality they are sold. I know that using an Assembly item would fix the issue but then we lose nice label print outs and Matrix option. Any advice on how current users handle bundled items. I?m all ears.

Never did like how kits are handled, that's why we use assemblies for bundled items. Then we print signs with all the components and each price versus bundled price. I think each way has their pros and cons, so it comes down to what works best for you. I've never minded printing signs instead of labels so the assemly works great for me. Craig
