Yes of course, You can take monies off the item by just changing it "assuming" you have preset it to be ok for you as a cashier. Also you may choose level in customer properties. We have three price levels A Wholesale B

10% off and C retail

Do not however try to change after you have products in the cart. It will screw it up. always set price levels at the customer level before sale or at the beggining. We had a sale that went that way and it was hard to go back and void. Time consuming

You can also set on the whole sale or by each item there should be a toggle function key called discount. Press it and try it out with a sample customer to test and see what happens.

you can also set macros on the function keys to be say 22% off 33% off ect

You can also use the shift f3 button to discount the sale or individual items. for individual items arrow to price an then hit it and change a % or markup from cost.

You can accomplish the discount through the inventory wizard. You can select certain departments or suppliers through eh filter. You can even determine how long it will run.

Sometimes, sort of... A Mix & Match discount will work on different priced items, but it will set both items to the same discount price.

Say you have a Mix& Match discount where Qty 3 gives a price or 1.99.

Now, apply the discount to 3 different items, one priced at $2.50, one at $2.99, and one at $9.99

Now create a sale transaction and put 1 of each of the three items on the transaction - they will all reprice to $1.99.

So, yes, you can apply a discount to different items at different prices, but it probably doesn't work the way you really want it to...

Retail Realm has a Promotions Add-In that lets you create more sophisticated discounts than RMS gives you out of the box. I've never used it, just know it exists...

Retail Realm will resell through any RMS partner. If you click the "USA" tab on their website, there's an email address of someone who should be able to get you more info.

New West also has a mix-and-match discounts module that allows one to create sophisticated discounts in the form of 'Buy X quantity items from Y department or category, get Z% off those items.' It also includes options for prioritizing conflicting discounts.
