Rob,

FYI, starting around the first of the month, Mercury is no longer using TPI. There are using the built-in RMS routines.

Plug-in, you maybe able to keep your existing Merchant Service Provider but you have to buy the plug-in which is $150.

--- or ---

Try, Mercury Payments, you will have to switch over to them, no setup fee. Incidentally, Mercury uses TPI's plug-in to do processing when you need Check verification.

FYI, Mecury will still use the TPI interface if you need to Check Verification or if you wanted to the Ingenico Pin Pad. I just set it up at a store last week. They would rather you use the built in routines, but will accommodate based on needs.

RMS will do check validation based on MICR (the magnetic ink used to print the ABA and Account numbers on the bottom of the check), but only through PC Charge. Also, this is a relatively limited check verification service - it's not the kind of automated presentment service you can get through a dedicated terminal using say Telecheck.

Check out the PC Charge website for more information on the Check services they support...
