You should contact your reseller for this information for your region.

In the US, existing customers who are on a support plan for HQ can continue ordering 1.3 for New stores for a short time; I believe it will be cut off sometime in June, but I can't find the specific reference right now. I don't remember seeing any mention of allowing existing stores to add registers, just new stores to an existing HQ.

Again, in the US, 1.3 will be supported for 5 years. I don't believe you will ever see another update for it though.

I have no idea what the time lines are in Saudi Arabia - you need to check with a local resource for that.

Hi Moh,

You are using RMS v1.2 (SO&HQ), are you using Inter-store transfer between shops ?? As I remember , v1.2 has a bug in terms of inter store transfer. Have you notice anything missing??? does your store data inter store transfer matching with hq data??? Or perhsaps, any blank inter store transfer in receiving shops ??

the supplier who gave you the dongle for v1.3, might have run out of dongle with v1.2 because microsoft has been upgrading and have stop the production of v1.2 dongle..anyway,the dongle is only a license and it is compatible whatever version you're using as long as it is RMS ( i hope it works the same way with v2.0) .

MS does not admit to any bugs in RMS until they release a hot fix for them, so the only thing you can do is check the hot fix list and see what's been fixed. This makes me crazy by the way...

What properties are not matching? Many item properties (price, cost & quantity for example) are store to store by design. These values go into the itemDynamic table in HQ (when a 401 is run) and you can see them in the various 'snapshot' reports in HQ. This is to allow different stores in different locations to sell at local market prices and is a good thing. Unless you use RMS Security settings to prevent it, local stores can modify things that really should be consistent (Description, item lookupcode, etc...). These store level changes would NOT communicate back to HQ - if you want to keep your item definitions consistent, you should lock down the descriptive fields using Security settings. These can be set in your template database and will then carry forward to new stores, but would need to either be manually set at each existing store or generated by SQL commands.

Dongle is just a license check - it would have no affect on functionality.

401 uploads ITEM MOVEMENTS, not quantity. If you start with an incorrect quantity at HQ, you will continue to haveanincorrect quantity until it is reconciled. The possible exception to this is a physical inventory at the store. The process for Physical Inv. used to be to perform the PI at the store, caluculate and commit it at the store, then run a 501 Worksheet from HQ (Request full item counts) followed by Inv. Wizard task 190 (This is basically the HQ equivalent of the Calculate & Commit part of a Phys. Inv.). As of v1.3, MS has been saying that a 501/190 is no longer required.

Anyway, if you believe that your store quantities are more accurate than your HQ quantities, you can run a 501/190 combination to reset HQ.
