Glenn - Since Your Out There

Can you take a look at my post from 2/13 called "SnapShot Date?". I am still trying to figure out what generates the snapshot date.

Thanks for the update here Doug. I will test this out in the upcoming week and let you know what I find. This has just been killing me lately.

Hi Doug,

Not yet - I have been buried this early week stripping out a dueling db on a store..and both with uniquely secured SAs. Argh! I can not believe it. I feel like I am separating Siamese twins at this point - but have never been to med school.... Is there a group for that?

I expect to be through the worst of stuff tomorrow and am planning on starting Thursday am. I will make a note to be sure I remember to post back. Glenn did hit this thread on my initial post "SnapShot Date" - but that was still a best guess.

I am planning on testing quite extensively to make sure I get a good grasp on the scope of what sets the date. I will let you know as soon as I have something. This is just terribly frustrating b/c I have items w/ no snapshot date in stores, but do have pricing. Who knows - I am probably just hitting the top of yet another berg in my db....

Hi Guys

This snapshot date is the last time a 401 was completed against an item, i.e. the qty, cost, and so on have been updated,

I have excentively researched this and have tested, it will only start snapshots on item when they are sold, and also when po's have been received basically any transaction that happens on an item.

Hope that answers your question

This is a good start Stephen - but do you have more details? When you say the snapshot date ties to an item after a 401 has run "i.e. qty, cost, and so on have been updated" - what do you mean here? I am not updating any skus after they have been created at this time (we have some kinks we are ironing out) - So are you saying the update of qty, cost, so on are updated at the store and the 401 is picking up on that? I am not 100% convinced because I often see too many dates or none at all.... even when inv is OH. For us that would mean the inv OH was taken in via a PO, inv xfer or physical inv (no other option for our stores). So, I have inv movement, and zero snapshot date. - Oh and items are exclusively created at HQ with no rights at the SO level to modify, delete, create, copy etc.

I think there are a lot of questions about this out there - I am hoping to start digging further tomorrow afternoon. If you can provide any more details that would be helpful, and as promised, I will post back whatever ideas I think of.
