Handling Small Inventory Parts

1. Do you need to know the exact amount sold for each and every nut and bolt? If, so each one should be listed independently
2. Are every nut and bolt ordered from the same supplier? Just asking as to the function of creating a purchase order from select suppliers. If not done independently the purchase order option may not work correctly for you depending on case size.

Scenario: We sell many types of pencils. No barcodes but all unique order numbers. Instead of my cashiers having to look up each individual pencil, we sell them as one lump group. I have no specific need to know exactly how many pencils I have sold. We order by "eyeball" effect. One bin gets low, we order it.

This works for us because we order individually not on a purchase order created by RMS.

If you have to order the item separately why wouldn't you want to enter it separately? Or do you mean a box of assorted nuts and bolts bought by the box? If the items are the same but come from different suppliers you can have multiple suppliers listed per item and each can have their own reorder number. One needs to be marked as the primary supplier.
