How can I get Common Control Objects 1.8 software CD?

Dear Sir/Madam:

I am using MS POS 1.0, I had a problem with my USB pole display. I need Common Control Objects 1.8 software. I asked my Microsoft Certified Partner, but he did not know anything about this. My question is: where can I get the Common Control Objects 1.8 software CD? I know RMS has the "Configure Microsoft OPOS Service Objects" program under RMS folder.

but MS POS does not have it?

The following is from MS POS manual: Install the Common Control Objects 1.8 software. To obtain the Common Control Objects 1.8 software, see your Microsoft Certified Partner. ? Insert the Common Control Objects 1.8 CD in your computer?s CD drive and follow the on-screen instructions, accepting all the default installation settings.

Hi, root:

thanks for your information, but how to configure it? for example, how to configure it for my logic control USA pole display?

Download and install CCO, then you install your OPOS drivers for your pole display and configure them.

The CCO is a straight install, no configuration necessary. You configure the pole with the OPOS drivers.

Thanks, root, I installed the cco and then installed the pole display OPOS Driver

then configured it.but it seems there is no any relation between the two installations and configurations. How do I know the OPOS driver is using the CCO? because there is no difference between installing CCO alone and installing CCO and OPOS.

Thanks, shawn

The CCO is not a driver, it is a runtime. It manages the actual OPOS driver while in operation.

If the OPOS driver needs CCO, it will use it if it is installed. If CCO is not installed and the OPOS driver needs it, the OPOS driver will not work.

Are you still having troubles?

Thanks root, I understood now. because MS POS is not compatible with the logica control supplied OPOS driver. so, I will try to register and rename CCO runtime: OPOSLineDisplay.ocx and Opos_Constants.dll and then use the logica control supplied OPOS driver to configure it.

Do you think it is possible?

thanks, shawn
