How do I put QTY Available on Web?

Jan 02, 2009 8 Replies

We have been using RMS for a few years, and we have had a website as long, but we have not used it for selling anything. Now we want to sell a single item (kit of the month). It would be nice if I could post the quantity available on the site somehow.

A full-blown integrated solution is out of the question to sell just one item. So, I basically want a cheap and dirty solution that will just let people know when an item is no longer available (qty = 0).

Any way to do this without breaking the bank?

Will you be hosting the website on the same computer as your RMS database resides on? If you are then it is easy to write something like a PHP script to check the available quantity.

If not then you would need some way to have your website access your RMS database computer or have the RMS database computer "push" the available quantity every say, 10 minutes.

Maybe if we could get more information on your setup we could figure out the easiest way to get this setup.

No, our website is hosted by midphase.com (linux host), and our database is on a local computer on our in-house-only peer to peer lan. We would have to push the numbers manually.

integrated RMS e-commerce solution, the web would be hosted on their servers, the solutions it's not expensive, user-friendly, integrated with Google, Microsoft Live Products, payments getaways, etc, etc... Check them out, it could change your ideas maybe, about what You want to do...

Best regards, A.

Hi Bud, I noticed you're in our neck of the woods too. We have different pricing options for our customers and have just launched a new RMS software package called Dispatcher, which is actually cheaper than our current standard version.

Hi Bud

LAN Services develop their own web integrator tool and would be happy to produce a simple application that publishes your product qty to your web site.

Can I call you to get more details?
