HQ has no built in Import functions (nor does SO).
MS has an UNSUPPORTED import utility called QSImport, but this is for SO, not HQ. Speak to your reseller or open a support request on Customer Source to get this utility - or search the newsgroup, I'm sure you'll find a link to it.
RMS is built on SQL Server, so there are MANY generic import tools that you can use to load data, but you would have to make sure it is done correctly, which is difficult as the RMS database is not well documented; again, search the newsgroup - there are links to what documents exist...
Retail Realm has an import utility that will work with either SO or HQ to import several types of data.
Digital Retail Solutions has a package specific to Bike Shops that you might want to take a look at - they may directly support your distributor's data... I think the url is

If it's customers, you can use QSImport and they will be sent to HQ with your next WS401.
If it's suppliers or items, things get trickier.
QS Import isn't intended for use with HQ but I have used it to import items into HQ with success. If you decide to try it, make sure you backup your database first. I would recommend making this an after hours project.
If you import items and want to assign a supplier for each item during the import, your data has to be perfect.
If you need more info, provide more detail.
Tom
Is to import items and suppliers. I have try QS. but you are right not EZ to do.
Jose, you can use QSImport to import in a SO Database, and then you can Import from HQ Administrator. In KB there's have a couple of articles that explain it (dont remember the numbers). This proccedure is recommended if your HQ DATABASE IS EMPTY. Contact me if need some help

to import
Jose,
Here's how I did it:
Import the suppliers. Make sure you aren't importing any duplicates.
From the HQ Admin program, run this query and export the result: SELECT ID, SupplierName from Supplier
Use this data and the VLOOKUP function in Excel to add a SupplierName column to you item data. For QSimport, you must have an exact match for Supplier Name for each item.
Good luck, Tom
Robert,
You need to understand that this is a Public newsgroup primarily for end users. End users will only have access to CustomerSource. In addition, some pages/links in PartnerSource are not accessible via CustomerSource.
PartnerSource is only for MS Partners/resellers.
If you are going to provide a link in this public newsgroup, provide it into CustomerSource.
If you have the definition of the CSV I can quickly create a simple program in vb with source code and everything that will allow you to import the data to whatever database and table you point it to.
No cost. Just want to help as I had this same problem as well.
