invoke data upload

Is there a way for HQ to request data upload from a store without relying on the schdule? For example, if I needed to see acutual store sales data immediately. Thanks in advance.

No, communication is always initiated by HQ Client. The only way for HQ to request an off-schedule connection is to contact someone at the store and ask them to manually connect HQ Client. You would need to create and approve a 401 worksheet at HQ before having the store connect.

You could also use remote control software like PC Anywhere (that's just an example, not a recommendation) to connect to the store remotely and manually connect HQ Client yourself.

On a related note, is there any way to setup a connection schedule which connects more frequently than every hour? We would like our stores to connect every 10 or 15 minutes. I seem to recall our trainer indicating it could be setup to connect every five minutes, but that may actually be a little too frequent for our needs and volume of data.

in HQ Manager go into maintenance mode (you have to close all of the data entry windows first) File > Maintenance Mode then go here Admin > Stores then double click on each store to open up a configuration screen and choose the Connection Schedule tab for that store. in this screen you can set up your schedule. you should click the Help button on that screen and print it out to understand how to set things up. you have to do this for each store.
