There are two major nussiances I find with the Item Find and Customer Find windows:
1) If you accidentally press Enter or Find Now without having typed in anything in the search box, it goes ahead and performs a search that returns all results. This is a big delay if you have tens of thousands of items or customers. We have one store with over 200,000 items and over 40,000 customers, and many times the cashiers will accidentally hit the Enter key, cause them to wait 5 minutes for all 200,000 items to display on the screen. The fix would be for RMS to require a minimum search string length before it beings searching (e.g. 2 or 3 characters)
2) Use of the Enter key on the Find screens is inconsistent. When you first bring up the item screen, pressing Enter causes it to search. This is ok. However it gets confusing if you don't find the result the first time and you type a new criteria in to the search box. Now the second time you press Enter, it doesn't search; instead it will add whatever item may have highlighted during the first search. The fix is for the Enter key to always perform the Search/Find Now when you are focused on the Search text box.
