Merchant Provider Recommendations

Using Citibank for 4 years turned out to be an on-going nightmare of incompetence, being transferred again and again until you find somebody who can finally address any question/problem and the latest being that we just re-submitted the 3rd time to have Discover added to our account.



I was wondering which merchant provider you use and how you would rate them? And would you have a contact phone number?



I searched the entire forum as this issue came up before but did not get any hits. I also checked customer source but there is only a very old KB about Citibank. Is there anywhere a link of which merchant providers are natively supported in RMS?

Any provider that uses VITAL can be set up with the internal processing. Pretty much any bank or provider *CAN* process through VITAL, but it is not always their 'preferred provider'; you will pay higher fees if the provider does not favor VITAL.

The only provider that I've ever been willing to recommend is Mercury Payment Systems. They actually know what MS RMS is and actively support it. Most providers are stuck in a terminal mindset and really don't know what POS software is. You will need to go through an RMS reseller to use MPS - the reseller is responsible for first level support.
