We are in the process of setting up an additional lane in our store. Our first POS had all serial equipment connected. On the new PC I would like to have all equipment with USB connections. The new PC is a 3GHz system, with
2GB memory and a fast hard disk. This PC will have the RMS database (the other PC will connect to this database).
Basically I am looking for a desktop scanner, low profile cash drawer, pin pad with integrated card reader, receipt printer, and a pole display.
I was wondering if you are using such USB equipment, what vendors you would recommend and how reliable your equipment was/is. Any problems with setup or getting OPOS drivers?
We are using RMS 1.2 with latest patches and Citibank as our merchant service provider.
Any additional comments/concerns/recommendations are welcome.
