Receipt intermittently not printing - transaction not in journal

Customer has ver. 2.0 RMS Store Ops. Database is on a server and there is one POS machine, with 4 back office machines. This was an upgrade from QS2000. We upgraded straight into ver. 2.0 so are running SQL 2005 Server Express. No MSDE installed. Using Epson TM88 printer w/USB connection and Epson OPOS driver.

Database upgraded fine, although there was one issue (wrong data in the sale date field) which we solved prior to importing the database into RMS. Not long after initial use of RMS, we started having issues with receipts intermittently not printing. When we investigated we found that the transaction did not get entered into the journal, so we could not re-print receipt. When we check the sales report we can see the sale occurred and the inventory was adjusted.

Suspected a network issue, so we checked our server and the connections. Some issues were found and were corrected. Made sure install was correct by following knowledge article 932078 (Install and Set up MS SQL Server 2005 Express wtih RMS). This appeared to have no impact on the issue at the POS.

Then we tried to do a check on the database using RMS Administrator. We get the following error "Error - 2147212576: Object ID 549576996, index ID 0, partition ID 36017078009856, alloc unit ID 36017078009856 (type In-row data): Page (1:114816) could not be processed. See other errors for details."

Can anyone tell me what that means and what we can do next? We don't know if the database is corrupted or if it is the server or what.

I'm having the same issue. I verified that the transaction was properly captured via EDC, inventory decremented, etc... The funny thing is a few days later, the transaction would show up in the journal. This happens about only twice in the last month, but it's very annoying.
