Over Tendering Cash

Hi all ~

I'm looking for a way to prevent inadvertent over tendering of cash by scanning an item? Occasionally we accidently scan an item when the total screen is open - the scanner reads the bar code into the cash field - closes the order and tenders a mult-million dollar sale! Any tips on preventing this?

Is there any way to do this in QS2000? I tried putting a credit car as the first tender type, figuring it would prompt us for the credi card info, but it screwed everything up
