PO??? No case Qty

Ok i have ran 3 other pos systems and just got RMS what dont understand is why is it that the Item menu isnt broke in to cases? I mean when you pull a po it tells you how many units you need to order but doesnt break it down in to cases? This should be a very simple funtion of the pos software. I understand that some things come to us in singles but most everything we buy comes to us in cases is that not the case with everyone else?

Doug, I order most items by the each, but some items I Order by the case, and sell each OR case. for this I always order cases, set up two different items, and use the parent/child feature under the special tab. i don't know if this is what you are looking for, but it worked for me. when i sell down to 0 of the items, it automatically takes a case out of inventory, and adds the case quantity to the individual on hand inventory. hope this helps

I agree with you Doug, and the Parent/Child function is disfunctional anyway. There is no way to control your inventory below the full case amount. In other words, I don't want a full case plus almost a full case on hand for most of theses items. Most of the time I don't want a case to be ordered until I'm down to just a couple in inventory and there's no way to do that with Parent/Child. It's going to order the case as soon as you break it open. Craig

I didnt even think of that Craig.. That would mean that you are always over ordering which means the "reorder" points mean nothing. The item menu should contain the pack size "how many in the case" divided by the cost which would give you the price each. Then when you order you would get the case and the po would match the Invoice.
