POS2009 Offline Service Unable to install

Hi, I have a MS POS 2009, using a register and a main computer where the database reside. I can connect the register to the main database with no problems. On the main computer, I activated the offline database. However
when I run the offline wizard on the register, I keep getting the following error message: unable to install the Offline service. I even tried using installutil to install but it tells me it can not install.
Please help
Thanks in advance for any and all assistance in advance

medpham,
You can't run an Offline on the main machine, only non-server machines.

medpharm had written this in response to http://www.rockryno.com/point-of-sale/Re-POS2009-Offline-Service-Unable-to-install-40451-.htm : Jeff, thanks for the reply. Maybe my message was unclear. In order to be able to activate an offline POS machine (register), you have to first run the offline wizard on the main computer to set the password. After completing the main computer offline wizard. You will then run the wizard on the register POS computer for it to create the offline database on it using the password you created on the main computer
My issue: when I try to run the wizard on the register POS computer, it is unable to complete the setup because it is unable to install the offline sync service.(see log below). I also tried manually installing the POSOfflineService.exe file using "Installutil.exe" cmd but I still run into error related to the username and password mapping.
OFFLINE SETUP LOG: "Installing assembly 'C:Program FilesMicrosoft Dynamics - Point of SalePOSOfflineService.exe'. medpharm,
First we don't sell or support POS2k9, so I'm kinda guessing here. We think its still a half-baked product, maybe the 2012 version will be better.
As I remember. one of the requirements of POS2k9 network is that every machine in the network have the same username and password in the machine's Control Panel | Users and as I remember it needs to have Admin rights. I'm guessing that that is your issue.
This should be in the Getting Started or the Implementation Guide.
