Report Oddity

I'm seeing a strange error when I run the Summary Sales Report downloaded from CustomerSource. The error I get is: "The report data could not be loaded due to the following error: (3704) Operation is not allowed when the object is closed." When I looked up this error in the knowledgebase it tells me that it is an HQ error that doesn't appear to have any relation to reporting. As we are running SO and not HQ, I don't understand the error.

I thought it might be a data issue because I only get the error when I am running the report for year to date for some suppliers but not all. I can run the report for the year to date without specifying a supplier. I can also run the report successfully for the suppliers that throw the error on year to date if I specify some other window of time. (I can even do all the months individually for this year.)

I have already reindexed and ran a database check. Everything appears fine. I am also able to run the query that the report is doing in SQL without issue. Anybody have any thoughts on what I might try next?

Thanks in advance, Holly

No ideas on this one aye? I guess I will have to report it to MS to see if they can help at all.

That's not an RMS specific error, it's an ADO error, and it probably means that the report engine tried to do something to a closed recordset. What it might have been doing or why the recordset was closed is a mystery. I'd kind of guess that something in your filter criteria generated 'an anomaly' in the SQL it was trying to execute. Are you sure you ran the exact SQL that that the report engine ran? Did you get it from SQL Profiler?
