Does RMS have any way of being configured to handle restaurant or renting business?

I'm sorry to say that you cannot easily, out of the box, accomplish either of theses tasks. You will find though that a number of people on this forum should be able to offer you this functionality through add-in, including us.
We do have full rental application in final stages of testing.
