Is HQ supposed to overwrite Bin location?

Aug 23, 2007 3 Replies

I have HQ and am running two stores. Each store has different bin locations for the products. Is there anyway to prevent HQ from overwriting this field? I would like for the bin locations to be local, not global. Currently i have found that running a 250 overwrites the BIN. I didn't think it would but....

Help?

... inside from rms/hq I think is not possible.. only to create a snapshot via sql ...

Some folks might call that a design flaw...

If you're a merchant, it's a software design flaw. If you're a software engineer, it's a store uniformity design flaw.

Some retailers have cookie-cutter stores and prefer the bin locations to be identical at every store. Others not so much...

You should make a suggestion to MS to have 'WS 250 updates Bin Location field' as an on/off setting in HQ Config.

Argggghhh! If only MS would monitor the newsgroup instead of the stupid suggestion system. I don't know how to do it, don't have time to learn, and don't have time to vote.

Anyway... In case they are listening... This is the dumbest thing I have ever seen. Of course a 250 should not overwrite bin location at the store locations (or at least make it optional).
