RMS should recognise a PIN debit card and default to PIN debit

RMS payment processing should first allow the customer to swipe his card then then determine whether it is PIN debit or credit. Then it should default to PIN debit unless the customer prefers credit. This is how systems work at Target, Walmart etc because of course PIN debit is about 1% cheaper than credit. The flow would be



Cash or Credit?



if Credit swipe card



if Debit ask for pin or press button to switch to credit



if Credit ask to sign capture pad

Seems to me, at every store you mention and others I buy from, they always ask me up front Credit or Debit. Or I have to select from the two once I swipe my card.
