RMSynergy module from Davisdon Richards - Promotions

Hello-

I saw this module mentioned in some threads. If you have used this can you let me know if it would handle the following:

I need to create "package deals" where the customer could by 2-8 unrelated items all for a certain "package price."

For example: Buy X, Y, Z together... regular price $100, package price is $90. The items may be completely unrelated in the eyes of RMS (ie, not in a matrix, not the same price, etc)

Thanks, Molly

Hi Molly,

We have RMSynergy installed in our Company and Franchise locations.

We currently run promotions with RMSynergy in the manner you describe.

Some caveats, the Synergy back-end hasn't been the most intuitive - but once you get the hang of it, you can rig either simple or complex promotions.

We also use their loyalty program, so customers having purchased X amounts of qualified products can apply their points to future sales.

Synergy is expensive (by my standards), but it functions. When there's a problem though, it can be a bit complex to figure out. The documentation (last I looked) was a bit thin when it comes to troubleshooting it - so make sure you have a good support relationship with your reseller.

Hi Molly,

Ive used RMS for a few years, but only in the last year worked with the Synergy Add-on, I couldnt speak highly enough of it, it can handle the pormotion you mentioned, but also many more complex ones, specific to customer account types etc... I also like the ability to report on the promotions and the individual items within each promotion - makes it handy to manage the whole thing! It may be more expensive than some add-ons, but i think its a very well put together package and in my experience the support of it has been top notch! It comes with very up to date and complete help files! If you want to know any more specific functions then let me know!

Hi Molly,

You can do this directly from RMS.

This is what i found in the help section of Microsoft RMS

Standard Item - Discounts tab The Discounts tab enables you to grant price breaks based on the quantity a customer is buying. The schedule provides up to four different quantity levels. You can combine price levels with quantity breaks to offer a pricing scheme based on customer status level and still reward customers for buying in high volume.

Use a Mix and Match discount scheme: If selected, you can use the Discount Scheme drop-down list box to select the applicable mix and match schedule for the item. Mix and Match items are items that can be sold in quantity with other similar mix and match items at a discounted price. For details, see Discounts command.

Use a 'Buy X, Get Y' discount scheme: If selected, you can use the Discount Scheme drop-down list box to select the applicable discount pricing schedule for the item. The Buy X, Get Y feature allows you to sell a specified quantity ("X") of items at full price and give the customers a certain number ("Y") of items for free or at a discounted price. For details, see Discounts command.

Hope this helps. BUt just in case you need a custom application which gives you more than this option then please contact the undersigned for details.
