Is there a way to set the departments and categories to a discount price. For example i have a category name soda, can i put the whole soda category to a discount price and on sale schedule??

This is how to set the pricing for a "date range" the question was a "schedule" I too have been trying to find out how to do a sale price for a category/department on a schedule vs on a date range.

What I've found is that RMS is severly deficiant when it comes to setting discounts and setting/scheduling sales. There's too many problems to mention them all here, but one is using the schedule to set discounts. As you've figured out, the only way to do it is item by item which is downright stupid. As I said there are too many other problems regarding setting sales and discounts to mention them all here. I really hope that 3.0 is much more robust when it comes to this. Craig
