setting up non % discounts in rms

Dec 04, 2005 3 Replies

I would like to attach a mix and match or buy x get y for z discount to a large amount of items as a sale. Is there a way to do this in the inventory wizard? We have many many items and to find and attach one of these discounts to every item I want to run a sale for and then to un attach it to the item when the sale is done would take days. Is there a way to set this up and turn it off on a bulk level or set dates? I only see the % option in the inventory wizard. my example: I would like to run a short term sale on my sweatshirts under $52. It would be buy one for original price or get two for $x. Since all of my clothing items are matrix items, I would have to go in and change the inventory item for each color and size to have it be part of a discount code. Please let me know if there is a better way. Selling things at a % gets really boring, but I would like to have items ring up correctly at the register and not always have the cashier manually discount an item.

If you are working in Store Operations, the answer is no there is no way to do this with the wizard.

If you are working in POS then yes, you can create a mix and match discount scheme and apply it to multiple items easily.

In Point of Sale Manager select Discounts - Item

Then select New

The New Discount Item dialogue box will appear. Here you can input your discount scheme.

When done, click Add. and the Add Items dialogue box will appear.

From here you can add all of the items you want to your new Discount scheme.
