Signature Line in full page receipt?

I am trying to add a signature line to the full page receipt. I use full page for in store Charges, and would like to have a line for customers to sign. what do i need to do to add this to the standard full page receipt? also, I would like to change the header from "sales receipt" to Invoice. is this possible? In the old POS system that I had, there was an editor that i could use to change the look/layout of the receipts. does RMS have the same thing. I cant find any way of editing the templates.

thanks

You can use Notepad to edit receipts. Just navigate to the Receipt Folder, find the receipt you want to edit and open it in notepad. Work on a copy of the original so you always have a backup in case you screw it up. Craig

Craig, Thanks for the suggestion, but I am not a programmer. I manage a Paint store. it might as well have been in Greek. I was hoping to edit it with something a little easier to understand. any ideas?

You will have to edit it in notepad. Maybe someone else knows how to get a sig line on the full page receipt. Not being a programmer myself, it would take me some trial and error to get it done. Don't worry about not knowing a whole lot. A lot of us here have gotten our receipts the way we want them by searching this newsgroup and doing some cut and pasting. As long as you only work on a copy of the receipt you can always revert back to the original and start over again. You can also check on customersource, there may be a template that does what you want on there. Craig

As to the signature line, it is not difficult, but someone on here probably has one that they would post for you. I have one that I set up but it has some additional verbage that would not be applicable to your business.

I thought there was a full page with signature on Customer Source as well, but I haven't looked for a while.

okay, so you were right craig. i worked up the nerve, and figured out how to add the signature line. thanks for the input. now, my question is, how do i change the heading from "SALES RECEIPT" to INVOICE. it seems to me that if someone is charging to an account, it is an invoice, not a sales receipt. i can't find where that is listed in the notepad file.

thanks again for the help
