Tax Issue

Hi again.. I have a question about taxing...

I am aware that RMS allows us to change tax mode between Tax-Exclusive and VAT.

However, this applies to all the transactions. This is a problem because we also sell liquor, which is tax-inclusive(all the tax, Liquor Service Tax and Good and Service Tax, are already added to the price), and the rest(price+tax)

I don't know how to solve this problem... I have to make the tax appear on the receipt but not allow it to added on to the price again. Any suggestions?

Regards, Joseph H

The only way I know is this: You can have multiple tax types and assign them to items individually, so most items could have only sales tax and liquor could have liquor tax as well, the taxes should show up separetely on the receipt. Problem is then you have to price out the liquor in the system without tax, as it will be added later.

will there be any alternatives? anyone?

It is very difficult to price out every liquor items because the prices change every 3m> The only way I know is this:

What tax are concern about the sales tax ( percentage of total price ) or ( beer tax- different amount of tax based on size and alcohol content)t ?

For beer tax we use add on items

For example a 6-pack of beer has a $.20 alcohol tax that is added to every six pack of beer and than the sales tax is calculated from the price of the item.

As long as the tax amount is constant for a specifit item or type this works well.

Let me know if this is what you ware looking for . Robert
