True Value Hardware

I have a new client that is a True Value Hardware store. We have asked True Value for a file of items that we could import into RMS. We have basically been stonewalled.

Does anyone have a True Value Item list that I can use as a starting point?

I own a True Value Hardware store and a have been using RMS for more than two years. My reseller and I imported the entire True Value Electronic catalog into RMS in about an hour; it was about 70,000 items. I have since added other supplier catalogs. I imagine your customer is getting a bit apprehensive by now; I can help you reassure him that he has made the right choice. RMS is a great system for us.

The True Value member must have CIS or True Start 2 from True Value to be able to populate his database. The monthly cost of either system is $100 per month through True Value. We used the import utility for RMS to populate the database. One other point: CIS is an old btrieve DOS-based database while True Start 2 uses SQL.

One other point, True Value Company (the co-op management) does not like third party POS systems because they want to sell the member the vastly overpriced and complicated Activant (Triad) or scaled down Unity system.

I will be more than happly to help you out. Contact me at:
