unique ILC's

Does anyone know of a way to get a report on unique ILC's? In other words I might have 100 items that have ILC's starting with 045663, 50 items starting with 030172, etc, etc. I would like to report on the individual unique starting numbers but I can't figure out how to have these numbers show up only once on the report. Currently every report I have tried brings up all products that start with these numbers. I would like to have a report that shows me each unique starting number only once. I have tried built in reports and Excel(newcomer to excel) and can't figure out how to get it done. Craig

I figured put a way to do it in excel. I attached to the database into Table- PUBLICDATA and it returned my item list with ILC in the first column. I don't know any formulas, so I clicked on the top of the ILC column and got a drop down list that had all the ILC's checked. I then unchecked all and went down through the list checking one of each unique starting number. This gave me the report I needed. I'm sure there's an easier way than the way I did it but at least I got it done. I can see the usefulness of reporting in excel versus built in reports. Does anyone know of an online course or book for excel? Craig
