Web Integration

Is anyone using a web integration solution with more than one site from the same database other than the Kosmos solution?

I have used Newest's WebIntegrator for more than 1 website within the same SO database. They had to do a minor customization to all both Webintegrators to run on the same PC. In addition they have customized it to create a workorder from the orderdownload with out any human intervention. The last customization allowed me to reduce my Customer service department by 1 person.

I used nitrosell and it worked fine. You have to use the PAM to say which items are sent to which website with the Main (Item on Web) in RMS being the master.

Did you have issues with KOSMOS working with 2 websites? NewestTech was supposed to have their part fixed.

Mickie, to be honest I have some issues with Kosmoscart. I'm heavily invested in the solution and running two sites from it. I would really like to stay with it, but I have issues that that are unresolved. Some of the issues probably stem from the fact that my databases were ported from the beta system to the newer system. I didn't have these issues until I went with the the dispatcher system. I lost some money this week when the prices of some items changed (I'm assuming a database corruption) and were sold for half of cost. The prices are right in the RMS database, so I'm not sure what happened. I really like working with Walter the other Kosmos staff, but I'm getting frustrated. I have hundreds of items that won't display an image or the image is corrupted or they display on one site but not the other. I know you switched from Nitrosell - how do they compare as far as ease of use and multi-sites etc.?

Hey Tom that sounds cool. Who did that custom work for you? We are still having to make work orders from each individual downloaded internet individually. How does that work?

Also, how do you differentiate sales between websites? We are using SALES REP to distinguish ebay, amazon, in-store and different websites' sales.

We have occasional issue with pricing that changes. Like the $499 bow that sold to about 6 people for $10.60 each. Right. What was more surprising is that the people really thought they were going to get the bow for that much. DUH.

I "think" this has to do with the stupid RMS glitch that changes the PRICE to the last item you had opened. When you are looking at an item that is $10 and then close and open an item that is $399. sometimes the $10 price will pop into the price of the second item you opened and when you hit "save", you are screwed. (has anyone figured out how to fix that in 1.3?)

That is why we have a policy to ALWAYS hit cancel unless you are updating something and to check the price as your last step out.

Of course, some of the price changes I could not figure out why they were wrong or when they had changed.

i know matrix items and Kosmos do not play well and I get better SEO by eliminating the matrix. You have to take all item in the matrix OFF the web first.....update...then empty the matrix. And if you inactivate items that sell out of whatever, without doing this, it leaves phantom items on the web when they are inactivated. We have this problem CONSTANTLY. Never with nitrosell.

-- Pictures are always a problem. Nitrosell does that better too. Sometimes thumbnails won't show up but the main pic does...or visa-versa. And the answer, to do a complete re-upload 10,000 skus, just isn't a good option. It crashes several times until I finally get through the whole lot.

Nitrosell does a better job with the database sync.

I have not started running 2 websites off of KOSMOS yet. Still waiting on the right time.

Kosmos does have a nicer web design and much easier to change the look and feel because of X-cart. I am also using mods for X-Cart that help my ebay business. there are no such things as MODS in nitrosell and you cannot get any special things that *you* need or want done (without paying through the nose). What you get is what everyone gets, that's it. You cannot hire a PHP programmer to design your site...well actually I did it my altering the CSS for the site as the only way to do it.

That's why even though there are some problem with KOSMOS, I think they are a better solution.

These price changes aren't an RMS problem. The prices are right in RMS but wrong in X-Cart. Running Kosmoscart with one site and running Kosmos dispatcer with multiple sites. With the single site where images are uploaded by Newestech's integrator, you can reload all the images if there is a problem. With dispatcher and Kosmos' image utility, you cannot reload the image. I have literally hundreds of images that have problems. Some are like you stated, thumbnail but no main image, vice versa, some show a corrupted place holder, some have no image at all, some images show on one site, but not the other. The real issue is that if there is an image problem of any type, you cannot fix it. You have to contact Kosmos with the item number and have them fix it. I have over 7000 images and I would esitmate several hundred have problems, so putting in a support request for each one is not practical. Not to mention the fact that with this many items I can't really be sure which items have valid images and which don't. Some items have the wrong image even though the image in the image directory is correct. It looks really unprofessional to say the least. I am getting really frustrated with the whole Dispatcher thing. I really hate to bring this up in a public forum, but I've got to take care of my business. I haven't purchased the Ebay mod, I would like to, but I think it is over priced. I do have rewards points mods, points referral mods, MAP pricing mods, insurance mods, affiliate mods and so I don't really want to switch solutions if I don't have to. If it wasn't for the fact that I have two stores with RMS

2.0, HQ, Newestech Mobile Suite, Web integrator/Kosmos, I'd dump the whole RMS solution. I'm tired of being billed $2500 for RMS support plans etc.. for half baked products.
