Hi, Thank you for your code. Is this SQL language?...I'm not too bad as an application program end-user, but I was not trained in this language. I don't think many people would know how to write this type of coding to make the MSRMS work in order to print the labels.

I have read the darn manual and others not-in-the-darn-manual tips and am still having problem printing the darn tags. This, simply, is because the darn MSRMS does not have the proper preset template to support the Zebra printer.

I went and paid the $200+ annual web-based support fee with the promise that I could get help through email. After countless hours looking for information here and several emails to service supports, the responses I got sent me back to this free forum and another link on how I could pay for more services.....

This tag printing feature should not be difficult for MS programmers to do, but to expect that every end-user, who already paid thousands of dollars for a packaged software, to go back and do tedious coding in order to print the darn tags seem very darn unreasonable.

You can get a free POS software from Camcommerce.com and it prints find. The tags and printer are cheap. I didn't know enough to switch!....

If you could let me know which page of the MSRMS manual mentions the zebra printer and thermal hangtag template, I and many other users here will be grateful!....

You can "test" the code by making your LP2824 the "default' printer temporarily and printing the notepad document to it. Of course it won't have the custom fields from the program but those are generated when the label is printed from the POS program itself. Sorry if this is getting too confusing.

LOL!....I bought it from a website. It seemed to be a one-man operation, but he sold other hardware too....delivery and prices were not bad.

As for tech support, I'm afraid he's not competent!....

And I don't think anyone else here had figured how the zebra would print properly. All the instruction here didn't help. I don't think the MSRMS has the capability to make the Zebra compatible yet.

Granpicasso gave you the templates for 3 different size Zebra labels. The

Save each one to a file with a descriptive name in the Labels folder under the Store Ops folder. Install the printer as a Generic/Text only printer. When you decide to print labels, select one of the 3 or one that you made and print.

If you want the to use the easier RMS Label Designer, then switch to a Windows based printer. You won't have as much flexibility, but it works well for lasers, inkjets, dot matrix and some label printers such as the Dymo/Seiko and Brother printers.

You also might look at the $200 dollars you spent for support. Look to see if its for a Microsoft Maintenance Plan. If it is, then you should have received a Welcome letter from MS and directing you to sign up for their private CustomerSource website. Going into that website and entering Zebra in the KnowlegeBase, gives you additional information about programming the Zebra labels.

Thanks for the tips.

Though I have not been "invited" to enter the "knowledge Network", but a month after I signed up for the support plan, I was finally able to beat down their doors and ask for a link, got instruction to install the generic text printer, which I already knew, having used ICE Retail from Camcommerce for years.

The point here is the Zebra cannot print properly with the easier RMS label designer. I haven't tried programming the zebra directly and don't think an end-user should have to go through this lenghth to "learn" to do the programming when the software claims that the Zebra printer can be used!....

That gives me 2 choices: 1) months of learning to be a programmer first before running my retail shops. 2) Paying $20,000 "consulting fees" initially quoted to install 2 registers and one HQ.

The page mode, Avery label, is not suitable to my business need!...Well, I'll try to run the coding through the zebra and try to replace the numbers with the tag size I'm using.

There remains one question: Will the tags advance properly in page mode because I have to print them in large batches? The entire inventory database need new tags with its own bar code!...
