If you bothered to register 2002, you got the letter in 2005 telling you to upgrade because 2002 is no longer supported.
Now you have no choice but to buy 2006.

Not likely. You should see how they screw us over for the "payroll service". There is no flipping service. It is tax table updates that we pay anywhere from $20 a month to $60. PER MONTH! We see one or 2 tax table changes a year, often only one. To boot, the forms don't even change every year, our T4's compared to your 1092 form (slip you get from employer at end of year for tax returns?).
So, you guys in the US pay how much per year for tax table updates? Plus you get one update for free? We get the tax table that is valid Jan 1 for the software year (eg. Jan 1 2006 is the table you get). If you don't cough up the $20 per month (for Basic), you get locked out of the payroll program. NO message saying you are preparing a payroll with tables that may be out of date or incorrect. Just plain old locked out, can't use it. You have to set up QB for reporting only, and manually post cheques after calculating deductions.
