You can add whatever payment types you want.

Yes, I can add the item, but it is NOT depositing directly into checking. I have to make a deposit instead of showing that it is directly deposited into the bank account.
Go into Edit>>preferences>>Payments and Uncheck the option "Use Undeposited funds as a default deposit to account".
With this option disabled any payment received will now show you a drop down menu to allow you to control where the money is to be posted. If you don't need to group multiple checks into 1 deposit then just select the appropriate checking account.
Correct you still have to go through the deposits screen.

Not if you change the preferences to NOT use undeposited funds. Then you are in complete control of where the payments get posted.
