Does changing price for an Item change prices/amounts in past invoices?

Does changing price for a service Item change prices/amounts in past invoices? I want to raise the price on a labor item & keep using that labor item but a thte higher price.

Do I have to cahnge the labor item name to something else to avoid historic prices form being changed?

Good lord no! Can you imagine what your A/R would look like if QB retroactively changed item prices? Every customer, and all of their transactions, would suddenly owe you the difference between the newly stated price and the price they were charged back then.

Of course!. I thought so but just wanted some assurance.

I just found in the help where I states that. Thanks.

Changing the price will effect current and future transactions. If you open up a prior transaction the rate could also change to the new rate so you need to be aware of that.
