Help with Referral Payment

How do I set up Quickbooks to generate an automatic payment to someone for a referral?

Here's the situation: I am covering clients for another business, I bill the clients at the same rate but upon receipt of payment, I forward 25% to the original business for the referral. Can this be automated? Ideally, I would like to have an account called Referral and have it automatically generate a 25% payment when monies are received into this account.

Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't think there's any way to setup an auto bill for this. You'll probably just have to automate yourself to always create a bill for 25% of the proceeds to the other business each time you create an invoice to a client. When you receive payment you turn around and pay the 25% bill corresponding to that client's order.

I guess QB needs to read these threads and apply some of these ideas.

Set up the other business as a salesman with a 25% commission rate.
