I noticed that only 32 characters can be used in custom feilds for items, my description of products sometimes can use up 2 paragraphs, is there any way around this.

Learn how to abreviate.
The Description field can accommodate your 2 paragraphs, why are you using custom fields?
Perhaps the OP needs the SDK to help fit the info in the field.
