Minor Annoyance

My chart of accounts has two payable accounts - A/P, and A/P - Reimbursements. The latter is used for reimbursing expenses paid out of pocket by staff.. The reimbursement account is a sub-account of A/P.

But whenever I click Vendor | Enter Bills, A/P - Reimbursements comes up as the default. I'd like the main A/P to be the default, as this is the most used account. How can I set the default?

I don't t think Gary's suggestion will work - one account is a sub-account of the other and is ALREADY positioned "below" the main account.

I think the problem is that one account is a sub-account, the other is the main account. Promote the sub-account to a main account, your issue should be resolved.

The solution may be as simple as moving it in a different order on the chart of accounts. Go to the COA, find the AP account, move your cursor to the diamond to the left of the name, the cursor will change to a crosshair with arrows. Click and hold with the left mouse button and reposition the AP account on top of the other AP account. Release the mouse button, That may solve the problem.

Intuit will get it when they make it possible to set default choices throughout QB.
